2. What did you find out about pets in America? (Discuss at your table. Each table will create a "Top 10" list and write it on the board. Sharing will follow.)

Watch and follow along. This is a free site. I suggest, however, that you turn your sound down as some of the ads are LOUD!
You will create a correctly formatted Works Cited page for your "pet" article entry. Once you have it in WORD, you will copy/paste it to the correct space in CANVAS.
4. Now, tell me about your pet. Talk at your table first. Share the pictures. Get the memory juices flowing.
5. Now, take 10 minutes to write about the pet you selected. This is a free write. The goal is to develop fluency, not perfect punctuation. Just talk on paper. If you are not comfortable with using the keyboard, you may write this out longhand, take a picture of the document, and post in CANVAS. However you decide to write, you must submit in CANVAS.
6. Learn to think like a writer. Read/listen/answer/highlight. "The Crazy Cat Lady" by Rick Bragg
7. It is your turn. Write a personal narrative about a pet or pets. The narrative should be between one and two typed pages. Post the draft in CANVAS by the beginning of class on Tuesday. Also bring a paper copy to class.
Consider using the following:
1. Title
2. Capture the attention of the reader.
3. Use numbers if there are any of importance.
4. Include dialogue
5. Identify the characters.
6. Create a plot.
7. Tell where the story takes place.
8. Make the conflict, if any, clear.
9. End with power. Make sure the reader knows that you are finished with the story.
